Solving the Management Studio Error: Saving Changes is not permitted

Saving a table after making modifications (e.g. changing the data type) might result in the following error:

To avoid this error follow these steps:

1. Select "Options" from the "Tools" menu.

2. Select "Designers" and uncheck the "prevent saving changes that require table re-creation" option.

3. Click "OK".
